My audio files/stems are missing within my DAW after a Meloscene sessionThe Meloscene File System does not delete your files. However, many DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) reference audio files from their original locations rather than copying them into your project folder. If those original files are moved, deleted, or disconnected, your project will lose access to them. To prevent this, you need to make sure your DAW is set to copy all imported files into the project folder, or make sure to copy files from the Meloscene File System onto your hard drive for later use. Below are instructions for each major DAW to set this up as a default: Pro Tools Setup > Preferences > Processing tab > Check Automatically Copy Files on Import Logic Pro Preferences > Audio > General > Check Copy audio files into project when importing Project Settings > Assets > Check Copy external audio files to project folder Ableton Live No automatic default setting. Best practice: Use File > Collect All and Save after your session. Or manually save files to local hard drive FL Studio No automatic default setting. Best practice: Use File > Export > Zipped Loop Package to gather all files. Or manually save files to local hard drive Cubase Preferences > Editing > Audio > Enable On Import Audio Files: Copy to Project Folder Studio One Preferences > Locations > User Data > Check Copy external files when saving song Reaper Preferences > Media > Enable When importing media: Copy imported media into project media directory Tip: Before working with The Meloscene File System or moving your session to another machine, make sure your project folder contains all audio files. Every DAW has its own method of collecting and consolidating project data , follow the above steps to avoid missing files.

Can we do mixed reality sessions at our studio using Meloscene?Short Answer: Yes, you can use Meloscene for mixed reality sessions in your studio. Detailed Answer: We have developed professional-grade prototype systems that use holograms for an immersive mixed reality experience. However, these systems are currently expensive and still under development. If your studio is interested in exploring these advanced options, we can set up a meeting to discuss your involvement in further developing and implementing these systems. For more standard setups: In-Studio Use: You can equip your studio with VR headsets that seamlessly integrate with your studio system over IoT. This setup allows you to manage the integration or opt for a more flexible approach, where some musicians wear headsets while others don’t, depending on your preference. Managing Sessions: An engineer or producer can navigate the virtual studio from within the real studio via headset passthrough, or the Meloscene passthrough, handling all the audio files and coordinating with performers, whether they are physically present or remote. Remote Collaboration: Remote participants can use their own DAWs to manage their contributions. The Meloscene file sync system allows everyone to access and share the necessary audio files seamlessly. This flexibility lets you choose the right level of integration for mixed reality sessions, from simple VR setups to advanced holographic systems, depending on your studio's needs and capabilities.

How do I move inside Meloscene using just my hands? To teleport: Make a "finger gun" by pointing with your index finger and keeping your thumb up. Turn your hand until you see a line shooting out from it. If the line is red, you can't teleport there; if it's white, you can go to that spot. To teleport, tap your thumb and index finger together like you're clicking them, and you'll move to where you were pointing. To turn around: Stick out your right hand with your thumb up, like you're trying to get a ride (hitchhiking), and turn your hand to the right to spin right. Do the same with your left hand to spin left. If you want to keep spinning, wiggle your thumb like you're pressing a button. Walking around: If you've set up your real room correctly in the system, you can also just walk around your room, and you’ll move in Meloscene just like you're moving at home.

How do I get my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) to work Inside Meloscene?Basic Audio Routing Steps: Choose Your Audio Output: In any application you're using (DAW or browser), go to the settings where audio output can be selected. Choose “AgoraALD” or “Meloscene Audio” from the list of outputs. This directs all audio from your application to Meloscene. For DAWs like Pro Tools: Set Up in Pro Tools: Open Pro Tools and navigate to ‘Setup’ then ‘I/O...’. In the Output tab, add a new path and select “AgoraALD” or “Meloscene Audio” as the destination for this path. Assign tracks in your Pro Tools session to this output. For Browser-Based DAWs: Browser-Based DAW Setup: If you’re using a DAW in your web browser, access the audio settings, usually found in a settings menu or panel. Select “AgoraALD” or “Meloscene Audio” as the output, which is similar to setting up any desktop-based DAW. General Tips: Check System Sound Settings: On your computer, go to System Preferences or Control Panel. Under Sound settings, ensure that “AgoraALD” or “Meloscene Audio” is selected as the output device. This step ensures that all system sounds also route through Meloscene. Testing and Adjustments: Play audio to test if the routing is correct. Adjust the volume from your computer and application to make sure it’s audible and clear. External Sound Cards: If you use an external sound card (audio interface), ensure it’s configured to route audio through “AgoraALD” or “Meloscene Audio” if it supports such configurations. In some cases, this might involve setting the sound card as the primary audio device and routing all applications through it. By following these steps, you can configure almost any audio source—whether a fully-featured DAW like Pro Tools or a browser-based application—to route audio correctly to Meloscene or Agora. This setup is crucial for ensuring that all audio processes through your chosen output, allowing for a seamless production or listening experience within Meloscene.

Mouse Tracking (Latency) IssuesLatency issues with your mouse or virtual screen can disrupt your experience in Meloscene. These problems are often related to network bandwidth constraints or interference from other devices. Here are several strategies to resolve and potentially prevent these issues: Restart Your Router: Sometimes, simply restarting your router can help clear up network congestion and reduce latency. Turn off your router for at least 30 seconds before turning it back on. Limit Device Connections: Too many devices connected to the same wireless router can cause traffic congestion. Try disconnecting some devices that are not in use to free up bandwidth. Reconnect Your Devices: Disconnecting and then reconnecting your headset and PC to the router can refresh your network connection, which may resolve latency issues. Upgrade Your Router: If you frequently encounter latency issues, consider upgrading to a higher-capacity router or one that supports newer networking standards, such as Wi-Fi 6, which is designed to handle more devices and higher data rates more efficiently. Use a Wired Connection: For the most stable and responsive experience, use a wired Ethernet connection for your PC. This can significantly reduce latency compared to wireless connections. Optimize Router Settings: Access your router's settings to optimize for gaming and streaming. Look for settings that prioritize bandwidth for your Meloscene device, such as Quality of Service (QoS) adjustments. By following these steps, you can help ensure a smoother, more responsive experience in Meloscene.

I'm in the virtual studio but can't hear or see anyone. What should I do?If you find yourself in the virtual studio but can’t see or hear anyone, here are a few things you can try: Check Your Meloscene Version: Make sure you are using the latest version of Meloscene. An outdated version may allow you to enter and look around but could prevent proper interaction with others and even block you from logging in. Exit and Re-enter the Room: Sometimes, the headset might not transmit audio correctly. Try leaving the room and re-entering to reset the connection. Reopen Meloscene: If the above steps don’t help, fully close and then reopen the Meloscene app on your headset. This can help resolve issues with the software not functioning correctly. These steps should help solve common issues related to not being able to see or hear other participants in the virtual studio. If you continue to experience problems, it might also be worth checking your headset’s audio settings and internet connection for any other potential issues.
